This session will review the importance of the global harmonized system (HS) and how countries use it as a basis for their own Harmonized Tariff Systems. We will give an overview of the European Classification system, and will also cover the importance of selecting a proper tariff number by reviewing common trouble spots for global shippers, and the consequences of misclassification.
