PHILADELPHIA (July 2017) — BDP International (BDP), a leading privately owned global logistics and transportation solutions company, has been recognized through several recent honors – two naming the Philadelphia-based organization as a top third-party logistics (3PL) provider and another awarding the mantle of Green Supplier.
2x Top 3PL
The first 3PL distinction came from Armstrong & Associates, Inc., a leading market researcher in the logistics industry providing supply chain knowledge and market research. Armstrong & Associates’ 2017 list of Top 3PLs appeared in the June edition of Logistics Management magazine.
The second 3PL recognition came via Inbound Logistics magazine's annual Top 100 3PL Providers list, which was featured in the July issue.
“It's an honor being named a top 3PL provider, particularly by multiple sources, as it is recognition of our hard work and outstanding performance. However, we stress that they are reminders that we need to maintain and surpass these milestones moving forward,” said BDP Chairman and CEO Richard J. Bolte, Jr. “We are determined to do so by following the principles that have guided this company's success over the past 50 years: employing the top professionals in the logistics industry, embracing new technology, fostering longstanding relationships of trust with our customers and exceeding all expectations as a global logistics company.”
Green Supplier
Inbound Logistics also announced its annual G75, showcasing 75 companies committed to creating sustainable global supply chains. Award recipients, which were announced in the magazine's July issue, were chosen based on their implementation of socially and environmentally friendly practices.
In addition to recognizing BDP's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use alternative fuels/energy sources, reduce energy usage and implement a reuse/recycling program, Inbound Logistics wrote:
"As a steering committee member of the Clean Cargo Working Group, BDP works with industry peers, measures carbon emissions, and accesses carrier environmental data. BDP was named a Responsible Care Partner of the Year for 2016 and 2017. In 2017, Ecovadis gave BDP a silver CSR Rating. Further achievements include: distributing the second-annual Green Leaf Award for innovation in sustainability; establishing the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) program; and creating a network of EHS ambassadors around the globe."
