Nearly a year after the Ever Given cargo ship clogged up the Suez Canal, another Evergreen Marine Corp ship has become stuck — this time in Chesapeake Bay.
The US Coast Guard said it was not aware of what caused the ship to run aground but noted that no injuries or harm to the vessel had been reported, per CBS Baltimore. The ship is now in around 25 feet of water but is not obstructing the channel.
The 1,096-foot Ever Forward is a Hong Kong-flagged vessel. Like the 1,312-foot-long Ever Given, it also belongs to Evergreen Marine Corp. At press time, the ship's navigation status on the ship-tracking website Vessel Finder was marked as "aground," with its location still listed as being around several miles out from Baltimore's port.
