In light of the current exceptional operational circumstances affecting regional maritime flows, and to ensure the continuity of service for critical supplies, Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zone Authority, in coordination with Gulftainer, is implementing temporary cargo prioritisation measures at Khorfakkan Port.
The exemption applies only to goods arriving at the ports of Nuweiba, Ain Sokhna, and Safaga, with their final destination being one of the Gulf countries, according to a statement issued by the Authority.
Effective immediately and until further notice:
Priority will be given to essential commodities including food, perishable goods, pharmaceuticals, and other critical supplies.
Following the allocation of capacity to these essential cargo flows, cargo will continue to be processed subject to operational capacity.
Cargo destined for GCC markets will continue to be supported where operational capacity allows. These temporary measures are intended to ensure that port and logistics capacity remains focused on supporting national supply chain continuity, while maintaining the ability to serve regional trade to the extent possible.
The situation will be continuously monitored, and normal operations will be progressively restored as conditions stabilize.
