Late August and early September brought turbulent weather to the Gulf and Southeast regions of the United States in the form of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Two of the largest and most destructive hurricanes to date wreaked havoc on the Houston and Miami regions, leaving a path of devastation and directly affecting employees in these offices. Many suffered losses to their homes, vehicles, and personal belongings, with some employees displaced for several days due to excessive damages and flooding.
In total, the amount of funds raised for BDP Cares disaster relief was upwards of $231,000USD thanks to the generous contributions of employees and matching funds from BDP's ownership. BDP's Chairman and CEO, Rich Bolte stated, "The rate of response from BDP employees was truly humbling and overwhelming, though knowing how strong the deep rooted family culture of the BDP community is, this should come as no surprise. We support each other in the good times and bad, and most certainly when our fellow colleagues are most in need of our help. This is a true testament to our family living our values of BDP is a home, not a workplace, and Together we are a family, not a workforce."
