On September 12, 2018, BDP hosted a Women in Business Event in our hometown: Philadelphia, PA. What an amazing evening! The night brought together nearly 100 women, including employees, customers, partners and friends from varying professional backgrounds, to celebrate women’s leadership, build relationships and participate in thought-provoking conversation lead by our keynote speaker, ABC News’ Martha Raddatz.
About Martha Raddatz
Martha Raddatz is ABC News chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” Throughout her career, she has covered national security, foreign policy and politics, reporting from the Pentagon, the State Department, the White House and conflict zones around the world.
While her resume is exceedingly impressive, Martha herself surpassed all expectations. She arrived at our event fresh from a trip to North Korea, and was incredibly honest and open as she shared stories with us of key moments throughout her career, from being the only television reporter allowed to fly in an F-15 fighter jet on combat missions over Afghanistan to moderating the only Vice Presidential debate between Congressman Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden in 2012 .
Dress for Success
In line with the spirit of celebrating women, we also conducted a clothing drive for Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Thank you to the women who made donations.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
First, we would be remiss to not thank our co-sponsor, Willis Towers Watson, and Sue Fazo, East Regional Talent Practice Leader. Sue kicked off the night and set the tone by sharing her unique perspective on the importance of inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
Finally, this evening would not have been possible without the support and generosity of BDP’s leadership, the Bolte Family.
At BDP, our leaders understand the importance of women’s leadership and corporate social responsibility, and this event coupled with the clothing drive are concrete examples of this continued support.
It was an honor to take part in this event and bring together this amazing group of women.
