APL Vancouver’s crew on board remained safe, APL said, adding that the company is in contact with the vessel’s Master and local authorities to coordinate all necessary actions.

February 5, 2019 - Industrial-grade 3D printing moves production closer to the point of use, changing relationships among suppliers, customers and service providers. Consulting firm Strategy& in 2015 estimated 41% of air cargo, 37% of ocean freight and 25% of truck freight is at risk from 3D printing. The degree to which supply chains could be impacted by 3D printing is only an educated guess at this point as the technology matures and companies come to understand how to make the best use of it.

February 5, 2019 - In an industry first, Hapag-Lloyd will convert a 15,000 TEU vessel to operate using liquefied natural gas (LNG), the shipping line announced Tuesday. A shipyard based in Shanghai will retrofit the "Sajir" containership's fuel system into a dual fuel engine, which allows the vessel to operate using LNG and low-sulfur fuel as a backup.

February 4, 2019 - After a difficult few years, the oil and gas exploration sector is back in the black – and keen to stay there, according to a new analysis from Wood Mackenzie. In 2018, exploration added at least 10.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in conventional new field volumes. This was split 40:60 oil to gas.
